  13. I decided to visit the Bristol Atari show, as the London one was a little too
  14. far for me to travel (I only bother to go to far off places like London, when
  15. there is more incentive than a computer show!). It happened on the 30th July
  16. 1994, and was a lot better than I thought it would be.

  18. Normally, the only reason I go to computer shows is to meet people that I've
  19. written or spoken to, but not met. This was no exception, and the reason I was
  20. going to this show was to meet Phineas and Alison Pope of Merlin P.D., and
  21. Victor Wright of the ST Handbook.

  23. As well as those two companies, Goodman International had a stall. They were
  24. selling many types of programs, such as games, utilities etc, but they only had
  25. a small selection from their large catalogue. Merlin P.D. had a selection of
  26. ready made disks (as you know, they normally do credit selection disks, which
  27. would take them ages to make in the show), and also things such as disk boxes
  28. and a few commercial games.

  30. Speaking to Victor Wright, I realised that the ST does still have much going
  31. for it. He is still trying to produce, with effect, enthusiasm for the ST range
  32. of computers. It was his idea, in association with Merlin P.D. to host a games
  33. callenge, with the new game OBSESSION, with the winner getting a free Jaguar.

  35. A number of other stalls were there, selling everything from 19" monitors to
  36. hard drives to every type of computer lead you would ever need, and then even
  37. more different types.

  39. In conclusion, this was much much better than the Atari show I visited in
  40. Alexandra Palace last September, as it had much more to offer. Computer shows
  41. need more than just stalls if they are to be a success, and this show had much
  42. more than just that!
